FAQs

  • Females over the age of 18 may undress as much or as little as they are comfortable with.

Some clients wear a swimsuit or bra and undies, some wear just a thong, and others who prefer no tan lines will go fully nude.

The most popular option is wearing just a thong as most clients like to see the contrast of the "before and after"! Do not wear jewelry to the appointment - please remove it before you arrive.

Whatever you choose, remember that this is a judgement free zone!

We see naked bodies every day in the studio and we're only looking at your skin as a canvas, we are here to make you feel GOOD and CONFIDENT.

No body shaming yourself or apologizing for stretch marks, unshaved body parts, cellulite, unpainted nails, or anything else that is NORMAL!

Males and anyone under 18 must wear bottoms; females under 18 must wear top and bottoms.

Please wear DARK, loose, baggy clothing to your appointment. Full length pants and long sleeve shirt/sweaters are best to minimize skin to skin rubbing after the tan.

  • Anytime between 1-3 days prior to the event is good timing, however, 2 days prior is the best. Ex: if your wedding is on Saturday, book the tan for Thursday. Be sure to read our Prep & Aftercare page to see when your other appointments should be booked around your tan (nails, lashes, waxing etc).

  • The active ingredient in all sunless tanning products is called DHA which is short for dihydroxyacetone. The actual color you see being applied to your skin at the appointment is NOT the final result as many people think it is -that is only a cosmetic bronzer which acts as a color guide for the spray tan artist to see where they've sprayed you and so that you have the instant satisfaction of a tan. However, there are CLEAR spray tan solutions that contain DHA and will still leave you with a tan when the development fully takes place 24-48 hours after the appointment.

The DHA reacts with the amino acids in the top layer of dead skin cells on your skin. This reaction changes the color of the dead skin cells creating a look that simulates a tan. Once the dead skin cells fall off as they naturally do, this is when the tan starts to fade (hence why we tell everyone to exfoliate the day before a tan so we have the "freshest" and newest layer of dead skin to work with). Once the bronzer is rinsed off and the real result starts to come through, the tan will become much more blended and smooth than it was while the cosmetic bronzer was on your skin.

  • Absolutely! Many of our appointments are clients who are about to go on a vacation and want to have a tan before they get there. This way, you can arrive at your destination already glowing and bronze! You’ll feel so much more confident in your cute vacation outfits, swimsuits, dresses, etc. Plus, you don’t have to worry about laying out in the sun and getting burnt or uneven tan lines. It is SUPER common to get a spray tan before a trip! To preserve the tan on the trip, we recommend using NON aerosol sunscreen (the SunBum lotion sunscreen is spray tan friendly and won’t strip the tan). When you get out of the salt water or pools, we recommend rinsing off in fresh water so the chlorine and/or salt does not dry up on the skin and eat away at the tan. Staying hydrated by drinking water AND moisturizing your skin regularly will also help. Following this aftercare will help keep your tan smooth, even, and long lasting while you are on vacation! **Ask your artist to purchase the touch up spray to take with you on vacation!

  • Of course! Not all spray tans need to be dark and obvious. Sometimes the best spray tan, is the one that looks natural and almost goes undetected. If you prefer a tan that looks like you just spent a weekend at the cottage and got a subtle glow, rather than an entire month on a tropical island, just let your spray tan artist know. We always start each appointment with a consultation to go over the tan result you want to achieve so we can customize it just for you.

  • When you get a spray tan, the cosmetic bronzer that will be applied to your skin at the appointment will rinse off after you shower. Before the first shower, it can rub off which is why we recommend wearing loose & dark clothing to your appointment. The first shower you have after the appointment will only be a rinse with water (no soap or any other products) to stop the tan development from getting darker. Occasionally, there can be a bit of bronzer on the skin after the first rinse. Typically the bronzer will come off completely after you have a normal shower with body wash/soap. This is why we recommend brides come 2 days prior to their wedding day to ensure they’ve had 1-2 “normal” showers with body wash so all the bronzer comes off the skin before putting their dress on. If you want to feel extra confident about this, our favorite hack is to use baby powder or translucent makeup setting powder in the areas that you’re worried about transfer (I.E under the arms or anywhere else you’re concerned about). There is always a chance of tan rub off, but we’ve had great success with our brides who come 2 or 3 days prior to the wedding and use the powder trick! It’s also super important to follow the Prep and Aftercare instructions that we send via text/email for each appointment as following these also helps minimize the risk of transfer.

  • Our cancellation policy: if necessary, please cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 12 hours prior to the appointment time. Any cancellations within the 12 hour period will be subject to our cancellation fee which is 100% of the service booked (no exceptions under any circumstances). If a client does not show up or is more than 10 minutes late, the 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Refund policy: we have a very strict no refund policy due to the nature of spray tans. 50% of the final spray tan result comes from the work of the artist and the other 50% depends on the clients own unique skin, hormones, pH levels, diet, stress levels, etc. We highly recommend following our prep & aftercare instructions to help prevent any mishaps. However, even if a client follows the exact prep instructions, there are several factors that can affect a spray tan which are 100% out of our control (clients skin pH levels, client’s hormones, client’s products they’ve used on their skin recently, client’s diet, when a client sweats, stress, and several others). In the rare case that the tan doesn’t turn out perfect, we will do our best to help rectify the issue and troubleshoot the problem to the best of our ability. Since we are fully transparent about how spray tans work and that some of the final result is not in our control, we do not offer refunds. Depending on the situation, we may offer some type of store credit or discount towards a future appointment if we deem it appropriate.

  • A spray tan will not affect the way your skin is affected by UV rays. This means that if you normally tan in the sun, you still can! This also means you can still burn as well. We recommend wearing SPF at all times. Please read our Prep & Aftercare page to read how sunburn affects spray tans. If you have had a recent sun burn or sun damage at all, it is NOT a good idea to get a spray tan.

  • Our spray tans are safe for pregnant women and we regularly tan clients for their maternity shoots and baby showers. All of our spray tan solutions are free of harsh chemicals, paraben free, vegan, gluten free, and nut free. Since every pregnancy experience is unique, it is always recommended to check with your doctor before booking a spray tan.
